/ Podroll
Well you found my Podroll page, so it's probably worth explaining what a Podroll is. Nothing more complicated than a list of podcasts
that I enjoy and/or would recommend to you, gentle reader of this page.
In Regular Rotation
- ✰ Elis James & John Robins
A twice-weekly podcast from these two comedians. I've been listening to this for almost 10 years, since their days on Radio X/XFM (PCD and Retro-Oner!)
It's simply funny, and usually silly, but also a lovely, kind demonstration of male friendship and sometime exploartion male mental health. My favourite listening.
- ✰ The infinite Monkey Cage
Hosted by Brian Cox and Robin Ince, with a host of guests from the worlds of both comedy & science., Covers topics
as varied as 'The Wonder of Trees', 'The Fundamentals of Reality', and whether strawberries are truly alive. Pretty much every
episode teaches me something new. From BBC Radio 4 and released serially.
- ✰ Knuckleheads with Quentin Richardson & Darius Miles
A basketball podcast from The Players Tribune hosted by two former NBA players. Excellent interviews with NBA players pasta nd present,
and general chat and shit-talking about the state of the game and whats going on in the league.
- ✰ Accidental Tech Podcast
Another one I've been listening to weekly for 10 years plus. Lot's of Apple talk and occasional other tech stuff from Casey Liss, Marco Arment
and John Siracusa. Will Marco buy another MacBook? (yes) Will Casey overengineer ways to check whether a door is open? (also yes). Will John ever buy
a car that isn't a Honda Accord? (definitely no).
Occasional Listens
- ✰ The Talk Show with John Gruber
Apple-focused tech podcast. Another long-runner, this used to be up there in regular rotation, but has slipped down here in recent months.
- ✰ The Incomparable Mothership
This one releases regularly, and is a geek-culture focused podcast, covering film, books, TV, comics and more. It's only in the
Occasioal Listen section becasue i tend to pick and choose episodes based on whether i've read the book, or seen the film being discussed etc.
